Manual · How to use the inspector
1. Open a model
Choose + Open COLLADA / ZIP or drop a .dae or .zip file into the preview. ZIP archives can contain textures referenced by the COLLADA scene.
2. Navigate the preview
Drag with the left mouse button to orbit, right-drag to pan, and scroll to zoom. Use Reset view to frame the model again. Toggle Grid and Axes from the preview toolbar. Drag the divider to resize the preview and listings.
3. Find and inspect elements
Use search and minimum size to filter the listings. Select an element in the table or click a surface in the 3D preview to highlight it. When selected from the preview, the corresponding table row scrolls into view.
4. Visibility and exports
Click a preview element to select it, or Shift-click additional elements to add or remove them from the selection. Selected elements are highlighted in the preview and table. Toggling Visible for any selected row changes visibility and export inclusion for all selected elements together, as one undoable action. The selection stays active when hidden, so the entire group can be shown again with one checkbox. A normal click starts a new selection. Visible controls both the 3D preview and inclusion in Export CSV. Uncheck an element to hide it and exclude it from exports; check it again to restore both. All elements are visible and included by default on new files. Search only filters the table and does not affect exports. The Hide size (mm) filter hides undersized elements in the preview and excludes them from Export CSV.
5. Equal-size element groups
Visibility changes never reorder elements or groups; groups remain ordered by volume, smallest first, with the maximum rounded dimensions used for a tolerance-matched group. Elements with matching Width, Height and Length regardless of texture/material (rounded to whole millimetres, with optional per-dimension grouping tolerances configured in Settings → Element table) appear under a collapsible parent row. Groups are folded by default when a file is loaded. Use the chevron at the left of the Design element column heading to expand all groups or collapse all groups at once. Drag an element onto a group or another element to make a persistent manual group; drag a selected set to move multiple elements. Manually grouped members stay together when tolerances change. Use Remove selected from group to release chosen members or Reset grouping to clear ordinary manual assignments (the special Other elements group is preserved); both actions support Undo/Redo. Manual groups are marked “Manual”. Use the pencil icon beside any group or part to edit its Design element display name. Individual element pencils are right-aligned in their name cells. Edited names are saved per file, included in exports and undoable; the source COLLADA data and size-based grouping remain unchanged. Use the right-aligned chevron to collapse a group; expanding a collapsed group automatically collapses all other groups, keeping just that group open. Selecting an element in the 3D preview also expands its collapsed group and folds the others. Click the parent group name to select all members (Shift-click to add or remove the group from the selection). Use the parent Visible checkbox to show or hide the entire group, or expand it and change individual member checkboxes. A partially visible group displays an unchecked parent checkbox; checking it shows all members. Group visibility changes are one Undo step. Expanded and collapsed groups export identically. Export consolidates matching visible elements (or manually grouped elements, irrespective of their dimensions) into one row with their quantity in the Amount column.
6. Other elements
The permanent Other elements group is always shown at the top of the Design element table. Drag individual elements, selected elements, or entire groups onto it to exclude them from CSV exports regardless of whether they are visible in the preview. Expand its chevron to inspect members. Its Visible checkbox controls all members together; individual members can also be toggled. To return an element to normal grouping, select it and choose Remove selected from group, or drag it to another group. Reset grouping preserves the Other elements assignments. Its members and visibility are retained in file history and project ZIPs.
7. Export CSV
Export CSV downloads visible elements outside Other elements that pass the size filter, consolidated into rows by automatic size-based or manual groups. Exported rows are sorted by volume (Width × Height × Length), smallest to largest, using the largest rounded measurements of included members. The CSV columns are Design element, Element, Width (mm), Height (mm), Length (mm), Amount, with Amount last. The Element column uses the individual element name for single elements and “Multiple elements” for grouped export rows. The Visible column belongs only to the on-screen table and is not exported. Amount counts only visible members that pass the size filter. A mixed-material group may be labelled “Mixed materials”; expanded table rows still show each original material. Dimensions are rounded to whole millimetres, without decimals. The Export CSV button is disabled if no elements qualify.
8. Save and reopen a project
Click Save Project ZIP to download one portable .sukiyado.zip file containing the original COLLADA model, available bundled textures, custom part and group names, manual grouping, visibility, tolerances, filters, display settings, and camera position. Drop this ZIP back into the inspector to restore the project, including on another computer. An ordinary ZIP opens as before. External textures not supplied with the original model cannot be bundled automatically. A project ZIP does not modify the source geometry.
8. Undo and redo
Multi-element visibility changes and manual grouping operations each count as one undo step. Use keyboard shortcuts to undo and redo changes to Visible (up to 150 steps per loaded file). Shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + Z undo; Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y redo. Shortcuts do not override editing inside input fields. Loading another file clears the undo history.
9. Settings and remembered files
Choose colours for selected elements and fallback surfaces; configure textures, shadows, table typography and compact Width, Height, Length grouping thresholds (mm). Set each to 0 for exact rounded-mm matching; for example, Length threshold 3 groups 1899 and 1902 mm with matching other dimensions. Groups use an anchor measurement rather than chaining differences, and exported dimensions show the maximum rounded Width, Height and Length among the included group members. File history saves visibility, manual grouping assignments and display settings locally in this browser, using a fingerprint of the file content rather than its filename. Set how many files to remember, or clear saved file history. Undo steps are not saved between sessions.
Grouping tolerance: 0 = exact whole-mm matching. A value of 3 groups dimensions up to 3 mm apart, regardless of texture/material. Exports use the highest Width, Height and Length of the included elements in each group; individual measurements remain unchanged.
File history: Identifies files by their content fingerprint, not their names or dates. Settings are stored as JSON in this browser.
